Talley Vending Services (TVS) is independently owned and operated by Michael Talley in Birmingham, Alabama.  TVS provides full-service vending to businesses in the metro Birmingham area.  TVS has experienced steady growth since its inception in 2002.

Meet The Owner

Michael was born legally blind because of a hereditary condition called aniridia.  Aniridia is the absence of the iris, usually involving both eyes. Although, Michael was born with this rare "disability" it has not caused him to stop living his day to day life just as any other person. Michael was active in sports in high school, attended college and for the last 19 years has been a small business owner.  In those 19 years, he has owned an arcade, a gift shop, and ran a cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch 5 days a week while servicing vending each day after the cafeteria closed. Michael has owned and operated Talley Vending Services for the past 16 years.  He takes pride in running his own business and loves his job. Michael is a "people person" and he loves the day to day interaction with his customers.  For Michael, this is not just a route that he can work for a few hours during the day and then go home. Michael lives and breathes the business, all day, everyday.  It's not just a job, it is how he provides for his family. When he says, "It's a pleasure serving you" he means it.  He is so thankful for the opportunities that have been given to him. 

In a conversation with Michael about his vision and the fact the he works when so many would just give up on life, you will hear him say, "I am blessed to have the vision I do have. If I can see colors and smiles, I can see everything. It could always be worse and I need to make the most of the vision I do have. My idea of success is touching lives in a positive way on a daily basis." 

Michael loves to read. You can frequently catch him listening to an audio book in his spare time.  He not only enjoys listening to a good novel but listens to a lot of business and motivational books. He also enjoys traveling and speaking.  He has been to many states where he has been invited to speak at various meetings and conferences. Michael never meets a stranger.  If you have the opportunity to meet Michael, you will probably walk away saying that he is a man who is passionate about life and the opportunities he's been given and that he loves people.  

Michael is married to Angela and they have an 18 year old daughter, Mary. Michael, Angela and Mary are active members of Union Hill Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama.  Michael is the middle school boys Sunday school teacher. Angela is co-director of the preschool department.  Mary is a greeter at Union Hill, she is an active member of the youth group and the tech team and serves as a preschool and children’s worker. The three recently went on a mission trip to Idaho and truly enjoyed the experience. They plan to go back next year but they are also planning to take part in other upcoming mission trips with their church family. Mary recently graduated from high school and will be attending college to pursue a degree in Marketing and Advertising. Michael, Angela and Mary love to spend time with family and friends and in their spare time. They enjoy spending time together, traveling and visiting new places.
